On Wednesday March 25 2020, I started the COVID-19 5 FOR 5. I offered Instagram followers 5 minute portraits for a $5 donation to Equality Illinois’ Covid-19 Response Fund and live streamed the painting process to followers Friday March 27 and Saturday March 28. In just two days, this effort produced 36 new works of art and raised $500 to provide assistance to the communities most impacted by this crisis.
Equality Illinois is Illinois’ LGBTQ civil rights organization.
